MTV Music Doesn’t Think Very Highly Of Its Userbase

November 1st, 2008

Did you know that by even mentioning a file-sharing application or website you are being offensive?  MTV Music thinks so.  They’ve bleeped mentions of Kazaa, Limewire, Grokster and Morpheus from Weird Al Yankovic’s song, “Don’t Download This Song.”

It’s utterly ridiculous.  Frankly, it’s pretty condescending to assume that by the mere mention of these websites I am going to  go out and download copious amounts of music illegally.  Thank you, Weird Al!  I had never heard of Limewire before you came around!

Kids already know about these sites.  Either they already use them or they don’t and bleeping out those words ruins the (little) integrity of the song.  They aren’t curse words (which I don’t believe should be bleeped, either) and they aren’t offensive in any way.

MTV Music, get your head out of your ass and stop *bleep*ing with my god*bleep* music videos!

MTV Launches a New, Hulu-like Music Video Service

October 28th, 2008

Poking around today, I discovered MTV has a really neat new site, MTV Music, which, brace yourself, plays music videos. In a very clean, appealing format. With decent resolution and quality. Since MTV has devolved into a cesspool of reality filth and a cesspool worshipping reality filth, it’s refreshing to see an initiative which gets this venerable form of entertainment back into the limelight. Now, they would only stock DRM free, free music tracks to go along with the videos…

Check this link out to see my favorite music video. Of all time.
