Take A Bow

May 13th, 2009

It is with great sadness that I inform you that I’m leaving Geek Troika. I had a great run these past 20+ episodes and the journey was nothing short of epic, but time constraints and personal matters have played a big part in my decision to go. I wish all the best to Mattie and Mike and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the podcast in the future.

As always you can find me over at my blog, as well as the other podcast I started up awhile back. You can even find me and hassle me over at friendfeed too, which is shaping up to be a much better place to hang than twitter. Anypoo, thanks for making Troika an awesome experience for me and I hope to see you all around the net! Peace!

Hey everyone! We’re having some editing issues, so the new ep will be late this week. Hope you don’t mind waiting a little bit for what could very well be our best (dirtiest) ep yet!

Any disgruntled emails should be sent to mike@geektroika.com. Thank you.

Generation Tech is now Geek Troika!

January 18th, 2009

Wow. It’s been a crazy beginning of the year and Generation Tech has finally hit the double digits! As you may know, this coming week will be episode 12 of our nifty little podcast. We’ve worked very hard to put together what we hope is an enjoyable, fun and informative show. There have been several changes in the past months as our tiny podcast has gone through some growing pains.
Jon, Mike and I have always considered ourselves to be geeks. We’re movie geeks, we’re videogame geeks, we’re music geeks, we’re computer geeks and well, I’m a snobby geek. That is why Generation Tech will become the Geek Troika podcast.

Several months ago, Jon Hardesty and I created Geek Troika Productions and began producing the Generation Tech podcast and website. When Jon and I started Geek Troika we wanted to dedicate our production company to all things geek. We wanted a home for those who overwhelm their friends with their passions for whatever it is they happen to be passionate about. Of course, Jon and I are both very passionate about film and technology, so Generation Tech seemed like a perfect way to kick off our company to a good start.

But Geek Troika is not just about technology. It’s about film, music, food, wine, Harry Potter, and anything else YOU feel passionate about. That’s why we’re making this change. We want to address all shades of geekery. So there will be some changes to our podcast, but we hope you will find them for the better. We promise to keep it as fun and lighthearted as we can while staying informational. We sincerely hope you all stay with us and watch us grow as content providers and as people. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for sticking with us for 11 episodes and I hope you’ll stick with Geek Troika for many more!

On Wednesday, when our new episode comes out, it will be our first Geek Troika episode. We will also have moved to our new domain: geektroika.com. It’s still under construction for now, but by Wednesday it will be the official place to find me, Jon and Mike. We even have a few more web series up our sleeves that we hope you’ll love and we plan to showcase them on the new site!

With all the love my heart can give,

Mattie Kenny

Feed Issues!

January 6th, 2009

We are aware of the feed issues. Our hosting company has suspended it’s hosting service due to fiscal constraints and we are now in the process of switching to a new hosting company. Please bear with us. We’ll have our first episode of 2009 out tomorrow, no worries!

Sign Up for Disqus!

October 29th, 2008

You may notice that we use a web application called Disqus to handle our comments here at Generation Tech.  Disqus is a spectacular service and I suggest you all look into it to handle the comments on your own websites.  (Also, email me or leave a comment with your website url in it.  I’d love to check it out!)

I’d like to encourage our readers and listeners to sign up for a Disqus account to claim your comments on our site!  If you sign up for an account with Disqus and ever visit a website using their commenting system, you can keep track of those comments through the Disqus website.  You can also easily keep track of replies and different comment threads.  If you’re on FriendFeed (I am), you can put your comments into the aggregator and start even more conversations around the subjects you’re interested in.

Really, I just want all of you to have pretty little avatars associated with your replies.  AVATAR FTW!
